Samsung has come out with there new up to date High Definition Television models and they are most definitely top of the line when you look at the product, price and overall flexibility of these new televisions. The new 800 Series will amaze you from the word go, with a 120 HZ refresh rate this series will make past models look much slower in comparison.

The Samsung LN52A860 Ultra-thin 52" 1080p LCD HDTV with 120Hz refresh rate is a great priced product as well. Samsung is often overlooked when you think of top grade Electronics with many people looking to Phillips, Sony or even Toshiba before they would by a Samsung product, but with the High Definition products they are putting out these days you cannot look past them because of they great medium prices on top grade products.

Some of the the things that intrigue me about the Samsung Ultra-Thin High Definition Television is the 52" widescreen HDTV and the Touch of Color with high-gloss finish, both of these features make viewing Sports, High Speed Action movies and any of your other favorite Television shows a treat. This High Definition Television also has built-in digital (ATSC) and analog (NTSC) tuners for over-the-air TV broadcasts and built-in QAM cable TV tuner receives unscrambled programs without a set-top box. These are some great extras that you will not find in all other High Definition Televisions.

Customer Review: Good value TV wall mount
PLASMA LCD TV TILT WALL MOUNT fits Vizio 37 42 50 46. Aside from problems with the shipper that lost the initial mailing, the wall mount fits and works great. It is really more suited for a larger TV than a 37", because it will handle lots more weight. I think this item is a really good value for the money. Frank
Customer Review: Vizio wall mount
Ordered two of these wall mounts, one for 37"Vizio LCD and the other for a 42" Vizio Plasma, the mounts worked great for both TV's this considering the hole patterns for each were different. They were an excellent value based on the cost of other wall mounts. I would definitely recommend this wall mount for anyone with a Vizio flat screen and searching for an inexpensive wall mount.

Most people in the last few years have plumped for LCD TV's over the fastly depreciating CRT TV which will soon become a thing of the past. However with so many brands, models, sizes and sheer technological jargon or specifications for LCD TV's you need to be sure that the one you are buying is decent, and fits the bill for what you want it for.

The first point that you should consider and look out for is the size. You don't want a TV that will either look to small on your TV stand or on the wall or a TV that is far too big to fit in a certain area or over powers your TV stand. So you need to make sure you do all the measurements before hand, this will give you an indication on the size ranges that will fit the selected area best. Straight away this narrows down your search.

The next step is to find a reliable, high quality and popular brand name, at this moment in time the likes of Samsung, Panasonic and Sony are the market leaders, and this will assure you that what you are buying is excellent quality and leaves you safe in the knowledge that you are in good hands with your purchase. When it comes to specification, you need to decide whether you want it purely for watching TV in High Definition, whether you would like it to have FreeView, or use it for a mixture of the two aswell as to play console games on.

As if things were not bad enough for the FOX News Network now due to the Israeli-Hezbollah war being fought in Southern Lebanon CNN has its ratings soaring like never before. CNN ratings are up nearly 400% since the fighting began 25 days before. It appears that the Arms Trade Business Industry is not the only industry, which makes big bucks off of the tragedy of war as humans slaughter their own kind?

One has to ask in all this one certain question and that is we know it is in the best interest of CNN that the war continue, with no cease-fires as it gives them over a month to talk about it. If further escalation erupts with Syria or Iran, well that is even better for the News Media, as it expands the entire pie or number of viewers as well as the those for record breaking CNN. So, now then isnt it in CNNs best interest and its shareholders to further help escalate the sound and fury of mankind?

And too that point all this war signifying nothing that we already do not know; that is to say that mankind is a barbarian; it only stands to reason that CNN will report the most horrific scenes to further promote more war in a self-serving cycle of human violence. Interesting philosophical thought on war is it not? Consider all this in 2006.

All home entertainment units have three major components that are essential to creating a functional home theater system. The main focus of any theater is the television or video display. Sound quality is essential. A complete sound system is key to providing the soul and voice of the theatre. A source player is the third element, providing the picture and sound. Cable or satellite TV is standard in most homes but DVD and other players are also added to expand the usefulness of a home theater. It is these three major pieces of electronic innovation that make watching a movie, playing the XBox or listening to a favorite CD enjoyable and worthwhile.

Visual Element

There are video display options available to a home depending on budget and preferences.

Rear Projection Television. Television technology has been based on the cathode ray tube (CRT) up until the 21st century. In a rear projection TV, there are three tubes, each representing one of the primary colors. This colors mix along with quality wiring and a good screen, provide a very high resolution picture. Manufacturers are starting to drop rear project televisions from their product lines however. Research your manufacturer's warranty before purchasing a rear projection television to make sure that customer service and repairs will be available down the line.

Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) Television. An LCD TV can be found as both a rear projection and as a flat screen. LCD rear projection TVs are much more compact than their CRT cousins and use less power. I have written about LCD televisions extensively in other articles so I will forego further explanation here.

Plasma Screen Televisions. In this technology, different gases are trapped between two panes of glass and an electronic signal can modify them to allow them to display a picture. These televisions are produced with a sleek thin design and can produce excellent resolution.

No matter which video display you are leaning toward, make sure to measure the area you want to put the TV so it fits when you bring it home. Also look into whether the screen is able to handle high definition (HD) television and DVDs.

Audio Elements

The sound system is going to make a huge difference in the enjoyment and functionality of your home theater. A good audio system includes the following elements:

Receiver. This component takes the audio signal, and often the video signal, and distributes it to the proper part of your system.

Amplifier. This component is what increases the signal strength before it is sent to the speakers. Often times, a purchased receiver will have an amplifier already built into it, making an additional piece of equipment unnecessary.

Surround Sound Speakers. Standard speaker sets of five are typical for most home theaters. There is a center channel, a right front, right rear, left front and left rear. These different speakers, when properly positioned, make the sound come from the appropriate direction.

Data / Signal Source

A basic DVD player is a standard signal source in most theater systems. The signal information sent from the player contains the video data as well as your 5.1 surround sound. Your cable box or digital satellite is also signal sources for a home theater. These sources can all be used in one system with the proper wiring and remote programming.

The following article provides a guide on how to compare plasma LCD and rear projection HDTVs, including the differences between the technologies used in each.

Many people are confused by words in the electronic industry today such as "rear projection television", "plasma", and "LCD flat panel". In order to understand exactly what you are buying when you purchase one of these items, you must first understand the underlying technology behind each one.

You must know whether wide screen televisions are better than regular flat screen televisions, and whether plasma screens are better LCD screens. The difference between LCD rear projection and flat panel sets is also important.

Before you purchase one of these electronic items, you should first understand exactly what their names mean so that you will not become confused by the salesman at your local electronics store. You will then be able to decide what is worth your money and what is not.

The following are several short introductions to each of these technologies used in modern televisions.

Rear Projection Television: These televisions involve a lamp behind a screen which projects an image onto the screen. This technology is also known as micro display, and is different from the more traditional CRT, or cathode ray tube, technology used in older televisions.

There are three different types of micro display - namely Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), Digital Light Processing (DLP), and Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LcoS). While televisions that use micro display technology are flatter and lighter than televisions that use CRT technology, the lamps in micro displays have to be changed once every two or three years.

Plasma Television: These televisions are almost always in the form of a flat panel, as they use technology that enables manufacturers to house the required electronics in a flatter panel.

A plasma television's display works in much the same way as a fluorescent lamp, consisting of two glass panels containing xenon gas between them. The gas, in the form of plasma, is injected and then an electrical charge is run through, causing it to light up in reds, blues, and greens, thus creating an image. Each pixel consists of red, blue, and green phosphors.

Traditional CRT televisions, however, contain a vacuum tube, which emits an electric beam across the surface of the tube, lighting up the phosphors. Thus these displays are larger than the modern ones.

Liquid Crystal Display Televisions

LCD rear projecting systems are not the same as LCD flat panel televisions, as rear projection LCD televisions create an image by projecting light through a transparent LCD chip, which consists of individual pixels displaying the moving video images, thus projecting the image forward through a lens that magnifies the image, onto a mirror, which finally reflects the image onto the screen.

The chip used in a rear projection television is extremely small and thus is extremely light, taking up much less space than the cathode ray tubes in more traditional televisions.

While LCD rear projection televisions are not as compact as plasma or LCD flat panel televisions, they are still much smaller than conventional televisions. These televisions are also less expensive as compared to plasma and LCD flat panel televisions, and they also have wider screens. LCD rear projection systems also provide brighter images and greater contrast.

This short introduction to HDTV technology should be of some use to you if you wish to compare plasma LCD and rear projection HDTVs. You should compare aspect ratio, screen size, resolution, HDMI interface, and price when selecting a television. You should also make a comparison between similar television models from different brands, as they may be different.

When one mentions electronic book readers, Amazon Kindle immediately comes to mind. It is by far the best selling e-book reader, what few know is that there are many great alternatives to the Amazon Kindle. In this article, we will review the Sony Prs-505 and Irex Iliad, which are the greatest competitors for Amazon's e-book reader.

Price - Among these three e-book readers, The Sony e-book reader, Prs-505 is has the cheapest price tag at close to $300 while the Irex Iliad is the most expensive at close to $700. The Amazon Kindle is priced at close to $400.

Screen Size - Although the sizes of these three e-book readers are about the same, the screen size are noticeably different. The Irex Iliad has the biggest screen size at 8.5" whilst the Sony Prs-505's is the smallest at just 6.9 inches. The Amazon Kindle has a screen size of 7.5 inches. I personally love a big screen and for all those who feel the same, the Irex Iliad is the way to go

Weight - The heaviest of all three e-book readers is the Irex Iliad, weight at 13.7 ounces. The Sony Prs-505 is the lightest at just 8.8 ounces.

Battery Life - When it comes to battery life, the Irex Iliad fared the worst with just 15 hours of continuous reading. The Sony e-book reader arguably has the longest battery life, where it can last up to 7500 page turns.

Design - I personally like the Sony Prs-505 e-book's design the best. It has a sleek metallic casing that gives it a sleek and professional look. The Sony model comes in both black and silver. Both Amazon and Irex Iliad models have some plastic or synthetic rubber feel to it, which, in my opinion, makes them look like toys.

All in all for the average casual user, Sony Prs-505's competitive pricing, sleek looks and portability, makes it the best pick among e-book readers. Amazon Kindle has a great selling point to as it is the only model among the three that has a free access to the Amazon.com bookstore. The Irex Iliad is the best pick for those who intend to get an e-book reader for professional use.

High definition flat panel televisions now offer the ultimate viewing experience. The light weight thin cabinets are easily wall mounted, saving room space and the necessity to move furniture. A home theater environment can easily be arranged with a flat panel TV and just a few components for a surround sound system. The television networks now offer high definition on most channels to watch on these amazing screens. You might have to upgrade your cable or satellite service to get the new channels.

You will want the largest flat panel screen you can afford for your home theater. The large screen sizes come in two types, LCD and Plasma. Both offer a great high resolution picture, many with up to 1920x1080 at 16:9 aspect ratio. Plasma screens are the largest and come in sizes over 70 inches.

The cost has come down considerably in the last year. More money can be saves by shopping at a discount TV store. Plasma sets were the least expensive but they can occasionally suffer from gas leakage and burn-in causing images to remain on the screen. LCD screens do not have these problems and are steadily becoming less expensive. These high end televisions are rapidly approaching the price range of a larger majority of consumers due to advances in manufacturing and technology improvements.

While most sets are capable of 720p, the best display is rated 1080p. There is also the interlace rating. Most HDTV flat panel televisions sold today are capable of 1080i and at least 720i. Actually the interlace rating was developed by an RCA engineer and dates back to the 1930s. Which ever one you decide on will adequately display TV broadcast available today. The sharper displays just cost more.

You will need mounting brackets to install the flat panel TV on the wall. The Discount TV stores have them for a fraction of the retail cost. Choose the brand you have and check the part number noted in the instruction manual. For safety, be sure to get help mounting the TV on the wall.

You can also find HDMI and DVI cables for less at a discount TV store. These are required to connect DVD players and recorders to the flat panel TV. They seldom come with any of the component equipment. You do not need gold contacts but they will last longer and they seem to be more available.

You will find using a flat panel HDTV to be the greatest improvement to installing a home theater in your home. The crystal clear picture and new features will provide an easy installation and adaptation to your entertainment needs.

Customer Review: One remote fits all
We bought two not only is the picture great but the cable boxes like it too. We replaced our westinghouse tv's with Vizio's and now we can use the remote that came with the cable DVR for everything.
Customer Review: Awesome Value
If you want to get Hd television for little money, VIZIO is amazing/ The built-in hd tuner is awesome! The picture quality is outstanding & it weighs nothing! The only downfall to this LCD is that there are no audio outputs, so could be frustrating. If you are like me though & have a cable or sattelite receiver you can just run your audio straight from the box to your receiver w/ minimal problems. Amazing quality for the price/ worth a try!

High speed satellite internet is a great option for people who aren't in the same location all of the time. For families who only call one place home and businesses who are in the same location all year round, DSL and cable internet services will do just fine. But if you are constantly on the move, or even out to sea, then it's stating the obvious to say that a physical connection to the internet will not work for you. High speed satellite internet connection is a great, reliable and affordable solution for those people who are not stationery for a long period of time.

Another great thing that today's satellite technology can provide is live event video streaming. With the use of a satellite, you can easily create fun and affordable live satellite-to-internet video streaming. This live event video streaming is exactly what it sounds like: a live event being video taped/recorded and uploaded to a special satellite, where it is then sent back to the internet for live viewing by interested participants.

Live video casting solutions are provided by many different companies, including todocast.tv and even comcast.com. It's a great solution for when you want to share an event with people who cannot physically be there. Corporations do this all the time, as do all of the major sports leagues -- those pay-per-view baseball games, football games and basketball games you're watching are definitely the result of live event video streaming!

In general, live event video streaming refers to streaming media. Streaming media refers to multimedia that is constantly received by or presented to a use while it is being delivered by a streaming provider -- in this case, a company or even an individual through the use of specially designated satellites, positioned high above the earth.

As mentioned earlier in this article, live event video streaming is a terrific solution for people who want to share an event with others who cannot be there in person. Typically satellite media streaming is used for sports related activities, including baseball, basketball, football and wrestling, but it can also be used to share live concerts, theater performances, even weddings, graduations and other ceremonies and special events. Live video casting solutions can be used in conjunction with pay-per-view style of movie sharing, or on its own.

For more information on the wonderful technology that is live event video streaming, and to receive more information on live video casting solutions, head to the internet and do a keyword search for both terms. You'll find a lot of information on both, including examples and how to get started with your own satellite media streaming!

Kimberly Green is exploring the Technology of live event video streaming and the possibilities of live video casting.

Take the bad with the good... To get that improved fidelity, you have to decide between either a Blu-ray player or an HD DVD player, and you won't be able to play certain studios' movies on either one. For example, if you're a sci-fi fan and want to watch 2001: The Space Odyssey (Sony Pictures), you'll need a Blu-ray player, but if you want to watch Van Helsing (Universal) you'll need an HD DVD player. Yes, there are combo players available, but they currently cost more than actually purchasing two players, one for each format!

Blu-ray and HD DVD unfortunately are not incompatible formats. What does this mean to you? It means that no standard Blu-ray player will be able to play HD DVD discs, and no standard HD DVD player can play Blu-ray discs (with the exception of pricy combo players of course). If a movie comes out in one format, there's no guarantee that it will be available in the other. Certain studios could release movies in both formats, but you'll still have to be careful not to buy the wrong version of the movie. Adding to the frustration is the fact that the capabilities and features of the two formats are far more similar than they are different

HD DVD
The Upside: Entry-level players are much more affordable than Blu-ray units; tighter specification means that all players have a more consistent feature set; some movies include standard-DVD version on the same disc.

The Downside: Studio support limited to just Universal and Paramount, which means no HD DVD movies from Columbia, MGM, Fox, Disney, or Warner (after May 2008); Xbox 360 requires an add-on accessory to play HD DVD discs.

Blu-ray
Upside: PlayStation 3 plays Blu-ray movies; Blu-ray has support of 70 percent of movie studios; Current Blu-ray discs can hold more data or video than HD DVD counterparts.

Downside: Blu-ray players are more expensive than their HD DVD counterparts; support for audio can vary from player to player; different profiles can cause confusion over special feature support.

Winner?
The format war was essentially tied until Warner Studios decided to become Blu-ray exclusive in early 2008. Now Blu-ray has the support for 70 percent of movie studios, including; Sony Pictures- MGM/Columbia TriStar, Disney- including Touchstone and Miramax, Fox, Warner, and Lions Gate.

Blu-ray also has an advantage in raw capacity (50GB vs. HD DVD's 30GB), and while that hasn't made much of a difference in the vast majority of titles, the special features of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix were in HD on Blu-ray, but only in standard-def on HD DVD. We can only expect more of this as high-def special features, which demand much more capacity on the disc, become more prevalent.

Conclusion
Wait it out, there is no true winner until one backs down. Plus, we all know how technology can change on a dime!

Customer Review: Bought less than a year ago and now will not turn on
Our TV just gave out after owning it for less than a year. The power button is lit red but wil not advance. The TV will not go beyond a black screen. I called customer service to be told, for a fee of $274.62 plus tax they will replace it. I can buy the same tv on the web for the $240 range! Not good customer care or product.
Customer Review: less than 9 months, picture tube going.....
I bought this set dec 10. in the last 2 months we've noticed horizontal lines and shadows. I've checked everything according to cable lines. It is the TV set. The service center admitted that this set does have a picture tube problem. they can fix it for $274.00. I bought it originaly for about that price. I'm really angry that it is dying so soon. All other TV's I've ever owned have lasted for many many years! I really liked this set up till this problem. In my opionion, less than one year for your money is not worth it!

There are many compact disk duplication services available at everyone's disposal however; one must consider various factors before choosing firms offering duplication services. A good duplicating firm offers discounts to clients duplicating many copies. One should also ensure correct disc labeling. One should also ensure that the firm offers competitive packages to attract clients. This includes attractive packaging for instance; using PVC wallets dig packs in addition to jewel cases. CD duplication firm should offer glass-mastering services at affordable costs. Other services to look for includes; compact disk pressing, full shade printing, encoding, mastering of audio files, incorporation of graphic designs, edge cutting and color package incorporation.

The easiest and time saving way of finding these firms includes searching for their web addresses on the internet. One such firm is Disc Wizard Company that offers quality-printing options at inexpensive and friendly charges. Others include Copycat Media popular for its fast services due to availability of effective duplication machines and adequate work force. Copycat Media Company offers the ability of duplicating large volumes without lowering the quality of data. Whether one has less a few or numerous copies, Copycat Media provides duplication services without lowering the quality. This media firm including many more, can be found in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.

People have realized that duplicating small quantities is less cost effective therefore; one may consider purchasing a computer and use it to duplicate the data depending on one's tastes and preferences. Prior to embarking on the use of a computer to duplicate one's data, one has to understand various requirements necessary for CD duplication. Numerous CD duplication software packages exist in the market due to development by the I.T industry. When one decides to duplicate one's data using a computer, one chooses software compatible with computer's operating system. One has to fit a computer with a duplicating hardware such as the CD/DVD writer component. After fitting the hardware, one installs the appropriate software such as Nero or fast ware software. Depending on one's level of computer operation, one may require a technician to install the software. It is advisable to choose software with a variety of features. For example when using Nero software one has an advantage duplicating data, mp3, audio and video data.

Depending on type of information contained in the master, one chooses the appropriate feature from the menu. Mainly people in the music industry practice CD duplication where they duplicate music videos. While duplicating video files, one chooses the "burn video files" from the menu. The next step involves choosing the correct video files from storage folders in the computer. One follows burning guidelines presented the dialogue box. After following all protocols of compact disk burning, the next steps include inserting blank CDs in the CD Rom and clicking the burn button respectively. This has led to piracy thus denying musicians, filmmakers and software developers their rightful dues. Piracy is the main hurdle facing these industries however, there are laws put in place that checks on this vice. While duplicating compact disks, one should avoid duplicating other people's work because this is against the law.

Have you ever wondered what the top benefits of having a spy camera in your home or office are? Well, wonder no more - because we have a handy list that tells you what the benefits are, and the reasoning behind them!

i) Multi-Tasking Designs

Today's ultra modern hidden spy nanny cams aren't simply spy cameras. They're now embedded into everyday items and objects that you can use on a regular basis - even if you don't employ the nanny camera features or capabilities. Alarm clocks, wall clocks, pen holders, fully-functioning stereo systems; some of these great items now feature easy-to-use and high-tech micro spy nanny cams.

ii) They Never Ask For Time Off

Security guards need days off, and watchdogs need to nap and rest, but spy cameras can keep on watching and recording - long after you yourself have gone to bed. You can plug them in and leave them up and running for extended periods of time - and even longer if necessary. No matter what your time considerations are, wireless nanny cams will always be on duty for you and your family.

iii) Master Of Disguise

A spy camera or internet IP nanny cam is only valuable if it avoids detection. Fortunately, today's ultra modern spy cams are designed to hide perfectly in plain sight. With some excellent features as pinhole cameras, incredibly small sizes, and, of course, excellent designs, nanny cams can be placed in just about any room and be used in any situation without attracting any unwanted attention to itself.

iv) Use Them Anywhere

Home, office, indoors, outdoors, in dark light or in bright light - it doesn't matter. Today's multi-purpose spy cameras are made to be used in any location delivering perfection and reliability each and every time. Kitchens, bedrooms, storerooms, cubicles - if you have an area to protect and monitor, there's a nanny cam out there that can simply get the job done.

v) Modern Technology

It's absolutely amazing to see just how far body worn spy cam technology has advanced over the years. Before, a video camera of any sort was large, bulky and expensive - not to mention difficult to actually use. Now, spy cameras are so user-friendly, but at the same time employing forward-thinking function, that anyone can have one up and running within minutes - regardless of how comfortable or experienced they are with nanny cameras.

vi) Versatility

How would you like to place a spy camera 3000 feet away from you and see what's going on with perfect clarity and without interruption? Nanny cams are designed to work in the real world - and not just within a 100 foot distance from camera to receiver. If you have large property to monitor, or want to keep a close watch on far, hard-to-reach locations, then there are many kinds of spy cams than can do just that for you.

vii) All Light Long

Some spy cams only work in bright light. Others in dark light. But today's modern nanny cams are manufactured to work in all lighting situations and capacities. In fact, there are spy cameras that are specifically designed to automatically switch onto night time recording when the surrounding light levels diminish. The safety and security of your home and family doesn't stop when the sun rises or sets, and your wireless spy camera will keep on recording - no matter how bright or dim it actually is out there.

viii) The Lens Never Lies

You wouldn't believe to look at it, but that tiny pinhole lens actually can see quite a bit. Most lenses are no bigger than 3/4" in diameter. But, that same tiny lens can actually capture everything that's taking place and going on within a 90 degree field of vision. You won't have to worry about missing anything, because your micro spy nanny cam will record it for you to see.

With the advent of flat screen television, the whole concept of how an entertainment center looks has changed. Earlier, TV Stands were bulky with a big space left in the centre for placing the television set. Such entertainment centers were also required to have ample width in order to accommodate the television. However, now-a-days it is possible to build slim TV stands due to availability of flat screen TVs. Flat screen TV stands are all the rage now as more and more consumers are choosing them over traditional models. The reason for their popularity is that they are both space saving and also available in various elegant designs.

Another reason for choosing them is that an average flat screen TV is 32 inches. This is why, traditional TV stands cannot accommodate them. Therefore, when you choose a one, you by default need to select a flat screen TV stand. You can also choose to wall mount but you will still need apparatus to accommodate your other entertainment media equipment related to it. Therefore, it is advisable that you select a stand that has ample storage options.

When buying flat screen TV stands you must plan to get one that is at least two to three times larger than your current need of storage. The reason for buying a bigger stand is not extravagance, rather foresight. The way entertainment media and technology is advancing, it is fair to assume that within the next two years you will accumulate a large amount of media. If you buy a flat screen TV stand only according to your current requirement, you may feel the need of upgrading it soon. This will prove to be an unnecessary cost and also it may be difficult to match a new one with your furniture and dcor later. However, if you feel buying a bigger than necessary TV Stand is not possible due to either lack of space or lack of funds, you can decide on a flat TV screen stand appropriate for your need, and then develop a habit of going through your accumulated media every few months and discarding obsolete stuff.

Technology evolves fast. Gone were the days of wired networks. Today, almost everything had gone wireless - phones, computer networks, and now, even speaker systems. If you still have a wired system working for you, you might feel the urge to update. Just the look of wireless outdoor speakers outfitting your backyard, garage, and porch seems to be a very cool idea.

But then again, you have to ask yourself this important question before buying - Are these speakers really worth buying? Is it practical to switch to wireless even if your wired system is working well? Unfortunately, there's no straight answer to that question. You just have to weigh your options well. If there's no problem with your wired system, why should you remove it? You don't want to get rid of a working system - especially not unless you're absolutely sure that the wireless system you'd like to install would work as perfectly for you.

What if you removed your wired network and it didn't work as expected? You'd be frustrated for sure. A wired system may not be the most modern thing these days. But it being obsolete is not a good enough reason why you should go wireless. Always remember that the system that had served for you for years is the one that's worth keeping.

On the other hand, wireless outdoor speakers may work for you too. Definitely, they are the nicest additions to your existing entertainment system. Go ahead and get one if you want to listen to your favorite tunes out loud while working in your garden or relaxing on the porch. These speakers can be installed in your garage. Use it while fixing your car to make the job a little enjoyable.

The wireless technology had really made things very portable. And its application it on speakers allowed users to enjoy good music anywhere they want to go - be it at the beach, at the poolside, or somewhere else distant.

Inside the home, wireless is the best option if you want to expand your speaker system. This is when opting for wired speakers are not the brightest idea. Not only that installing a wired network is too expensive - it also requires too much work. You need to tear out the walls just to run all the wires you need. For these instances, wireless outdoor speakers are the better options. This is the time when it's worth it.

Another thing that's good about wireless outdoor speakers is the fact that it is getting cheaper now. You can buy these devices for around $200 these days. That's a big price reduction compared when it's recently released in the market. And because of that, you can easily buy a unit for your car, for the house, and your home office. Relax with good music anywhere you are. Let these speakers pump out the tunes you want anytime, anywhere.

Sal provides expert information on wireless outdoor speakers by writing articles about investing in outdoor speakers and other topics.

A number of discount coupons abound the internet. But one should also be careful in buying those stuffs with very huge discount because it may only be trying to mask the low quality of the product. More often than not, they are second hand appliances.

When buying LCD televisions, it is advisable to go to reputed dealers who sell well-known and established brands like Toshiba, Panasonic, Sharp, Samsung, Sony, and the likes. Prior to the Internet revolution, buildings usually had two wiring systems, the electrical service and the phone service. When computer networks were required, phone lines were the only means available for data transmission. The original networks that were created for computers to share data simply piggybacked over existing connections and technology.

Today, more options are available (and needed) to meet the networking needs of consumers. A good rule when projecting the future of communications: whatever you can imagine for the future, and multiply that by ten. Who twenty years ago could have predicted the Internet or HDTV or cell phones or IPODs. And given that technology growth in communications has proven to be exponential in the past, we need to multiply that experience by a factor of ten for the next twenty years.

When dealing with the design and construction of a new facility, it is important to identify needs early in the process. When renovating an existing facility, many of the same considerations should be addressed, and the task is often more challenging.

Structured Wire

Structured wire is a technology of electrical interconnect, and is rapidly becoming standard in many parts of the U.S. The products try to anticipate future needs, and provide standardized methods for implementation. A Structured Wire facility includes telephone, computer networking, video, and sometimes fiber optic facilities. Structured Wiring Service Panels are usually about 4' high by 4' wide and are installed in a service area such as a garage, attic, or basement. The Structured Wiring is most often installed in new construction, but it can be utilized in existing structures.

The Structured Wiring Service Panels for a structured wire installation is a central panel where services (cable TV, telephone, satellite, internet, etc.) enter the house. A minimum requirement for each panel is a telephone-connecting block for terminating the twisted pair, and a passive cable splitter for the coax. Room should be left in the panel for upgrades.

Although individual Ethernet and video cables can be used, specifically designed multimedia cables are becoming standard. A dual cable, for example, consists of one Ethernet and one video interconnect under a single jacket. Another composite construction could include 2 Ethernet cables for voice and data and 2 video cables. These multimedia cables speed the installation time because multiple cables can be pulled at the same time, and it minimizes termination times since all ends are identifiable.

Ideally, the wired network has a "home run" configuration: a separate interconnect for cable TV, phone, and Internet data transmission is made from the Structured Wiring Service Panel to every point of use.

Structured Wiring panels are used to provide the miles of cable interconnects required to distribute Audio, television, security camera video, telephone, and digital communication applications, and now combines it with multimedia facilities. Structured wiring works well with a wireless network because administrators can connect wireless access points throughout the house through an Ethernet connection.

Computer Networks

The right technology choice is driven by what kind of property is being serviced. In a good communications interconnect plan, all interconnects are run to a central location. It may be OK to run a phone line in series (room to room), but it is not OK for Internet network cables.

Technology changes fast.

  • It was only twenty-five years ago that Steven Jobs said that no computer would ever need more than 64K of memory.

It is important to future-proof your plans. Fiber-optic solutions seem to be an unnecessary luxury today, especially with the performance available with high speed Ethernet. However, the majority of technology solutions for residential and small business applications are currently based on Ethernet.

Wireless networking (WiFi) is another technology that is rapidly impacting computer networking. Market research firm IDC projects that the total number of enterprise WiFi access points installed will grow from 1.6 million units in 2006 to 11.5 million units by 2010. Up to 20 users can connect to a single WLAN access point and receive adequate service. IDC also predicts that Ethernet switch ports, those predominantly deployed in enterprises, will grow from 172 million units to 208 million units in the same period.

Ethernet

Ethernet is the dominant standard for hardwire data networking. Ethernet hardware is usually standard in all new computers. If the method for high-speed data (cable modem, DSL, etc.) is hardwire, then the interface to the computer will usually be an Ethernet port.

Ethernet interconnections should not exceed 100 meters, and separate cables are needed for data and phone. It is possible to run Ethernet in the same jacket as phone, but it can be unreliable, and is definitely not advisable for High Speed Ethernet (> 100 Mbps). Use a separate cable, the "home-run" design, where possible from the network switch to each point of use.

With new construction, it is also advisable to interconnect buildings with conduit. Install it in the ground while it's still cheap to do so, and, keep the ownership rights. This will future-proof the property for later upgrades.

Retrofit Strategies

There are two common methods for retrofitting buildings: Wireless and Ethernet. Wireless has the apparent advantage of being less expensive and easier to implement, especially for retrofits. However, this is not always the case. Today, the answer is probably a combination of both systems. At points of use that are obvious and static, for example the home office, an Ethernet connection is appropriate. Overlaying this system with a wireless (WiFi) network provides improved flexibility.

Wireless

Wireless Ethernet (802.11) can be a good choice for communication retrofits for small projects. WiFi operates on radio frequencies (RF) and was developed for wireless digital communication between personal computers and consumer electronic devices. Most new computers include built-in WiFi support. Wireless Ethernet has applications including large buildings. Wireless access within common areas of a property, such as a pool area, can be an elegant solution. Wireless also is an excellent choice where it is difficult to run additional wire.

Hardwire

In some situations, rewiring can make more sense. For larger projects, a hard wire approach is more reliable, and in the end, cheaper. Wireless looks good "on paper", but in a large building, universal connectivity is difficult. The average cost to rewire with Ethernet cable is about $300 per point of use in large buildings. Having infrastructure in place for future expansion may justify the expense of rewiring.

Environmental issues must be considered when rewiring. Issues such as asbestos and lead-paint abatement are examples. There are those applications where rewiring is not an option because of construction constraints, unless exterior conduit is used, and esthetics often preclude this option. Once the wiring is installed, implementing the network is straightforward using standard Ethernet hub or switch equipment. Remember that there is a 100 meter distance limitation with Ethernet. In large projects, locating Ethernet switches in each building or on each floor of a high rise resolves the issue.

Fiber Optic vs. Ethernet

Fiber is probably not the solution to deploy today given Ethernet's ability to handle high speed communication over the short distances typical of large buildings. But it is difficult to anticipate the future. Fiber optic cables are used instead of traditional copper cables because this technique offers more capacity and is less susceptible to electrical interference. Fiber optic is becoming more common as a way to provide very high speed Internet service (100 Mbps and higher).

Uncompressed HDTV

If you want to distribute uncompressed video, say from the output of a satellite or cable receiver, then the bandwidth requirements are significant. The alternative would be to distribute the compressed signal, and install a receiver (with decompression) at each point of use. If you are in the first camp, read on, otherwise you can skip forward to the next section.

Today's video installations grow ever more complex, with source components positioned a good distance away from the display. The distance is the biggest factor in determining which technology to use. There are two choices, Copper or Fiber Optic.

An uncompressed digital video signal is a challenge. Fiber optic interconnect is the best technique for DVI and HDMI, because of the enormous bandwidth available. The bandwidth of Ethernet is less than 0.6 Gbps, and this is much lower than uncompressed video data (1.65 Gbps), it is easy to understand why fiber optic is better when it comes to high bandwidth digital signal transfer for long cable runs. Typically, 1080p signal would mean 1920 x 1080 pixels at 60 Hz. At this high rate of speed and large bandwidth of data, the impedance of many copper cables can cause signal loss at less than 20 feet, and this results in significant distortion.

Interconnect reliability over time should also be considered. The optical conversion electronics should last at least 80,000 hrs of continuous operation. Fiber optic cables are immune to electrical interference such as gadio frequency interference (RFI). With Fiber Optic Conversion technology, there is zero impedance (zero loss during transmission).

Summary

High quality interconnect is an investment. As digital video technology improves, you may be upgrading your DVD player or TV and it is important to make sure your interconnects do not become obsolete. Utilize a technology good to at least 1080p. Fiber Optics may be more expensive, but the price differential may be worth consideration for future-proofing your system now.

The goal is to deliver a cost-effective, future-proof deployment. It is more expensive and difficult to retrofit later. Inexpensive computing, the Internet, and digital communications are transforming the our planet. Twenty years of stunningly rapid advances in technology have brought computing into businesses and homes in ways that were recently not imagined.
